Client Spotlight: Mr. & Mrs. B

Fontaine Organizing would like to congratulate our clients, Mr. and Mrs. B. on a job well done!

When we first visited this house, clutter had taken over, making it difficult for the family to find necessary belongings. The mud room contained about twice as many items as would comfortably fit, leading to daily stress and frustration. While our clients had made good attempts at creating zones for shoes, pantry items, and outdoor gear and toys, the established zones needed tightening and refinement to best serve their needs.

The project began by assessing each item and then sorting them into clear categories. As we went through things like coats, shoes, and toys, our clients made some tough decisions to let go of things that were no longer serving them. Mrs. B. worked hard at making the bulk of the decisions on her and the family’s communal items, and Mr. B. jumped in to make decisions about his items and some of the family items, while also lending invaluable assistance in returning items to their known homes throughout the house. We used the shelving and bins they already had to divide the space into more functional zones, making sure things went in practical spots where they were easy to find.

This transformation couldn’t have happened without our clients’ trust and dedication. They enthusiastically took part in the sorting and embraced labeling and rearranging their storage systems, and were real troopers when hard decisions came up. They thoughtfully evaluated their belongings, and even though it was difficult, donated and threw away numerous bags of items to make room for the things that really mattered to them.

Now the mud room is a streamlined, calm, and organized entryway. All categories are grouped into refined zones that make sense for the space. The room feels welcoming again, and the family has a practical system for maintaining a clutter-free environment moving forward.

Over the following weeks, Mr. and Mrs. B. have made great efforts to maintain the space, despite their busy family schedule, and are doing a wonderful job!
